Here in Wiesbaden we have something called stumbling stones. Little copper stones with engraved names and birth dates-day of death of people which died in the Holocaust. They are in the ground in front of the peoples previous homes. And they are everywhere. There is nearly no house in the city centre without such a stone in front of it. They basically killed half of the people living in the city. Jewish life was such a big part of the German culture before. Heike Lipinski
