Here is Addy showing off her newest piece of adaptive equipment. Its a scrunchie made by Gramma Kathy Armell Patrick and adapted by her OT Erica. Erica attached Addys binkie, which she is highly motivated by, to teach her she can get what she wants by herself. This simple tool will be the precursor to adaptive self feeding equipment and playing with toys she can explore with her mouth independently. Addelyn got the hang of this pretty quickly and we are thrilled. As a bonus, it forces her to use her arms/hands more, and she has now figured how to balance herself in a sitting position WITHOUT needing her hands for balance for brief periods! Getting stronger, smarter, and more beautiful every day!! So proud!!
