Here is Mr Naughty Boy aka Fred sound asleep after mission accomplished according to him. There was a BIG BAG of candy corn sitting on the armrest in-between the two seats....we stepped away for a few moments and typically Fred will accompany us, however not this time. Figuring he was sleeping we thought nothing of it....BAD IDEA - you know how it is when kids are being quiet it typically is NOT A GOOD THING, same is true with a fur-baby. When we came back inside Fred had jumped up on the arm rest with his face planted deep into the bag full of candy corn eating as much as he could as quickly as he could. Discovering this upon returning back to the living room I yelled out to him NO NO FRED! so he pulled his head out of the bag. He immediately stiffened his little body and growled with all his might guarding this most WONDERFUL FIND...which he now decided was going to remain HIS! Well only a fool would reach for the bag and risk ripping of limbs, or at the very least pulling back bloody fingers...so 2nd choice, go and get the dog treat bag and show / shake it so he will leave this most valuable find....Failure #2....with a look on his face of you really think Im leaving THIS for THAT?? NOT HAPPENING So in order to retrieve the bag of candy after options 1 & 2 had both failed I implemented option #3 = Distraction. I decided to drop the bag of dog treats on the seat next to him and with his head turned to look at what was there I would QUICKLY reach around the opposite side of him and grab the treasure aka bag of candy corn.....SUCCESS. He quickly turned his head to see that the treasure was no longer there and coughed out a candy corn into the air, jumped down off the love seat and sat in front of me waiting to have a dog treat. I didnt want to reward him for his candy corn antics so I told him DOWN and he laid down...then I followed thru giving him the dog treat....,I think this turned out to be a win win situation for Fred...OH Fred you a such a character.
