Here is a box I made in memory of my Polish grandfather, Witold - TopicsExpress

Here is a box I made in memory of my Polish grandfather, Witold Aniola, and his father, Waclaw Aniola. They were separated during WWII when my grandfather was taken prisoner by the Germans. He later came to Britain but was never able to see his father again as Poland was on the other side of the iron curtain. My great grandfather was able to send him a photo of himself with a message written on the back, and this was the only thing Witold had to remember him by. A copy of the inscription and its translation are also on the box, as is a photograph of my grandfather, actually taken on the farm where he worked as forced labour. I plan to give this to my own son when he is older, so he always remembers his ancestors.
