Here is a chance to help survivors of the Philippines typhoon: this Saturday, November 16, Dick Dauphinais, John McKenna and Billy Neller are holding a relief drive in the basement of St. Anthony’s-Litchfield from 9am-1pm. Donations of clothing, blankets, sheets, shoes, and other items will be delivered to the Filipino American Association of Western Connecticut in Danbury where the goods will be boxed and sent to the Philippines for free by a New Jersey courier service. Food and water will NOT be accepted because of the weight factor. Most needed items: clothing for men/women/children, personal hygiene products, toiletries, flashlights & batters, blankets, sheets (NO pillows), towels, socks, shoes (NO dress boots), new underwear, jeans, shirts, windbreakers (NO winter jackets), sweatshirts, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo. Donors are encouraged to separate items in heavy-duty plastic bags. For those interested in making monetary donations, checks can be made payable to FAAWC and will be accepted on Saturday. THANK YOU FOR HELPING, NO MATTER HOW LITTLE . . . IT MEANS A LOT TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST EVERYTHING!
