Here is a clip we just watched about collectors. Even though Time Travellers only appeals to a small percentage of the population, we are proud of what we achieved and hope that the collection is not split up. Being a collector is a disease in the sense that there is no cure. The compulsion to collect never goes away... This video is not long enough, somebody (maybe me) should visit NZ collectors and do a doco on them. All around the world there are people like this, and we are all the same. Passionate people that collect pieces of ourselves, the past, or objects that may show a progression of social history or an objects history. Then you have the offbeat collectors of what could be described as plain nuts But whatever you collect, you are either entertaining yourself or others. The bottom line is to attract the type of people that can appreciate all the time and effort you put into your collection. Offering a free entry or next to nothing does not attract those sorts of people. Time is the one thing that you can never get back, next week we shall spend less time at Timetravellers because there are less people around and we have to spend time getting ready for when we close while we still have the time to do this, catch 22, maybe? but remember I have devoted more than 20 years to this project and I can decide to give my time , how I see fit, everybody that is lucky enough to visit us before we close please understand Im offering time, but my time is complicated as we try to divide it according to the time we have left in order to spend as much time at Timetravellers. We could have just suddenly closed weeks ago before the season started but we open in a limited capacity so some more people can see the collection before we pack it up. vimeo/30481262
