Here is a controversial: Today was not a good day to be a hell if you do hell if you dont school superintendent! I guess in a big government world higher powers like the State or Federal officials could make the decisions for the area and not individual districts based on considerations....it is a travesty for some schools to be in while others out for goodness sake! How dare the children be in a bus in these treacherous conditions but I will load them in the car and haul them all over the county to places I want to go. This is a sue-happy time...I am sure that is a consideration as well as actual concern for the safety of children...I doubt any administrator actually looks for a good reason to shut down schools. I do understand canceling school causes hardship for some parents...I do...but I guess you have to weigh it all out and deal with it like we do any other hardship that comes our way. Shutting down the schools could teach kids to be wimps and not be able to function in adverse conditions, promoting poor work ethics...who knows! Bottom line decisions have to be made, people are placed in decisions to make them. Did your kid have to sit in a school house today when others didnt or did they shovel sidewalks for some pocket cash, build snow men and have snowball fights.....wait wait wait...what am I thinking I meant play more video games and run the battery dead on their cell phones several times? I still love you...its just my editorial based on some of the pathetic Facebook ranting I saw today! And it is still fall....its only November....there is a lot of winter left probably! Do you get to kiss your children goodnight again tonight? Right decisions, wrong decisions....do you?
