Here is a curriculum vitae of most of Joes achievements since 2009. Please forgive any omissions. There is so much which Joe has accomplished since he burst into our lives in 2009. The winning of the X Factor title in 2009 by a huge margin of some 2.5 million votes or in percentage terms 63% of the public vote. His debut album achieved a number one spot in January 2010 narrowly missing out on the Christmas number one in 2009. He is unique in so far that there was a campaign organised against the Dark Lord and the X Factor show to deny this single the Christmas number one spot. The X Factor show in 2009 grossed over £100 million in advertising and voting revenue which saved ITV from potential financial problems and is the most financially successful X Factor in its history. In January 2010 he performed at the 02 Arena and sung a sensational version of the song he sung on X Factor Dont Stop Believing receiving a standing ovation. In February 2010 he sang at the Military Awards ceremony where he met the Princes William and Harry who he has met several times since. He performed at the 02 Arena in March 2010 as part of the X Factor tour which grossed more money than any other tour so far. His first and last album Wide Awake with Syco Records which was released in October 2010 sold over 90k copies with little or no promotion and absolutely no radio airplay achieving a remarkable number three spot in the album charts. This was to the astonishment of certain people who hoped that it would fail miserably. The single Ambitions taken from the Wide Awake album entered the chart at number six again against a back- drop of no promotion and no radio airplay. He parted company with Syco Records in February 2011. He was approached by ITV in early 2011 to enter the Popstar to Opera Star competition. Right from the start he impressed one of the worlds greatest tenors Rolando Villazon and our own Katherine Jenkins a world class mezzo soprano with his awesome musicality. He eventually sung the most iconic tenor aria in the whole operatic repertoire, Nessun Dorma to huge acclaim. He eventually won the competition with a staggering 77% of the public vote. The Monday after he won he entered the studios of his new record label Decca who signed him to their label during the Popstar to Opera Star competition. Seven days later he had completed the Classic album which has won him a double gold accreditation. He achieved a number two slot in the album chart. At the end of October that year he launched a nationwide tour which was the third most successful in the world during 2011. In November 2011 he was asked by the Royal British Legion to sing a track taken from his Classic album To Where You Are at the Service of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall in front of members of the government including David Cameron and his sovereign Her Majesty the Queen; At the end of 2011 he released his second album with Decca Records entitled Classic Christmas which earned him another gold disc and featured a duet with Rolando Villazon. In December of 2011 he was invited to introduce the Birmingham Royal Ballet at the O2 Arena and to sing a carol; from his Classic Christmas album, He has performed in front of Her Majesty the Queen and has been introduced to her on each of the three occasions. In 2010 he was invited to sing the closing credits title song by Universal Studios to their blockbuster movie The Voyage of the Dawn Treader based on the last in the of the C.S. Lewis Narnia series of novels which he subsequently performed in front of her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Premier in Leicester Square that November. This was the first of three encounters with Her Majesty who is known to have a soft spot for the boy from South Shields. In 2011 he was invited to perform at a private function organised by the Youth Theatre at Buckingham Palace in front of Her Majesty the Queen where he sang a production number from the musical West Side Story. In 2012 he released his fourth album. the third with Decca Records entitle Heres What I Believe. He performed at two launch concerts one in Newcastle and the other at St. James church Piccadilly. As it was Olympic year he was invited to perform at four Paralympic Torch ceremonies in four major cities in the United Kingdom. He performed at Her Majestys Diamond Jubilee water pageant on the River Thames. In February he performed at the Sage Theatre Gateshead where he performed with the 2011 Britains Got Talent winner Jai McDowell and help raise £25k pounds. Later in the year he performed with the iconic Dionne Warwick at the World Hunger Day concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Boy George described his singing as beautiful. This is highly unusual as he does not give out compliments. In February 2012 Joe received the highest award in the gift of The Variety Cub of Great Britain a Silver Heart for his outstanding contributions to various charities in the North East including The Teenage Cancer Trust. In 2011 he attended a concert in Bents Park located at his home town of South Shields in front of 26k fans as a thank you for all the support he has received. Joe has entered and run the Great North Run half-marathon representing The Teenage Cancer Trust on three occasions achieving a remarkable average time of 1 hour and 39 minutes. In 2013 he completed a coast to coat cycle ride raising thousands of pounds for charity. November 15th 2012 Joe appeared for one night only at The Prince Edward Theatre starring in the eponymous and iconic role of Tommy... He has since won Channel 4s Jump competition and has just embarked on a 60 plus venue tour of the UK. I hope that I have covered most if not all of this amazing young mans career since 2009 and he is still only 21 years of age. What is most amazing is the fact that none of the above achievements have been mentioned in any of the national papers. How strange is that? Some of us know the reason why. I leave the last ;words to Sir Tim Rice who after seeing Joe performing on tour at the Royal Festival Hall in November 2011 described him as A big major star. One of the worlds greatest singers Michael Buble regards him as his tip for stardom adding the comment that Joe could probably give him some useful tips on the art of singing. In spite all that he has achieved in his short career he is still not a major star as a direct result of incurring the wrath of a vicious and vindictive man. One thing you can bet your pension on is that one day the boy from South Shields WILL be a star on the world stage.
