Here is a fact. I never wanted to be a model. Its something that happened because other people decided I should be one. Never in my life have I wanted to be on ANTM or pursue a career in fashion modeling. I like doing fun, artistic shoots with creatives who do good work. Ive done shoots to make money, I abhor runway and am awful at it because I have the grace and coordination of a drunken toddler. Actually the drunken toddler is probably more graceful. Im pushing 40, I will no longer do shoots where people refuse my rates even if theyre offering some compensation. Getting naked for random photographers to make ends meet has put me in a lot of risky situations, and is no longer worth it to me. The whole scene most of the time makes me feel vapid and uninspired. I would rather work my stressful day job to make ends meet to be cold and naked in someones studio for not even a fraction of what Im worth and to get pictures I cant use. I want to make art and/or be decently compensated. My first photo shoot with a pro photographer was 26 years ago. (He was fantastic as were the photos I no longer have). I shit you not. My dream/goal has always been acting/writing/producing. I do not have to do things I dont want to survive. I will choose the gigs and photographers who best fulfill my goals. People like Savanna Ruedy, Lars Kommienezuspadt, Heather Morgen, Nicholas Larkins Perez, Yuli Xenexai, Lauren Payton, S.o.
