Here is a great example of why you need to make sure your pets have ID. When Will and I were getting ready to go out to dinner, a sweet dog came running up to our house. I got out of the car and he came running over and rubbed into my legs. He was wet from taking a swim in the lake but he had a collar and tags so I checked his tags and his home was not far from us. I said, lets go for a ride and opened the back of the car. In he jumped. We drove to the address and a woman was out in the yard, so Will got out while I stayed in the car with the dog. She was calling the name that was on the collar and Will yelled to her we had him in the car. She was not the owner but a close friend who was helping search. Will said she called the owner before she got to the car and he could actually hear the relief in the mans voice that his baby had been found and was safe. I can tell this dog is very loved as he had two collars on with multiple ID tags, a microchip tag, rabies tag, etc. I am so glad we took him back over to his house instead of ignoring him. What a sweet dog and I know his person must have been frantic looking for him.
