Here is a link to a film trailer that pre-dates Dieselpunk as a genre but shares many of its themes and tropes; and fully meets the three Dieselpunk criteria. Released in 1995 as a film, it was before that a successful stage play which I first saw back in 1990 in London. It is compelling and provoking and full of drama - well, it is Shakespeare after all. It is also controversial, stylistically referencing the Nazis in the portrayal of King Richard and his cronies in an imagined 1930s Fascist England.
