Here is a link to view the latest radar loop across the region. Even though freezing temperatures are currently being observed at the surface and aloft, the weak radar returns you can see in the loop highlight areas where light drizzle and/or mist (liquid) is present. Because the temperatures are not cold enough for ice crystals to develop...the light drizzle/mist will remain liquid until reaching the surface...forming a light coating of ice. Those out and about this morning are urged to use extra caution and allow for additional travel time as roads may be slick in areas this morning. The areas highlighted in yellow show locations currently under a winter weather advisory.
