Sunday March 2, 2014 2:30 pm Old East Studios, 755 Dundas Street East (on the South side at the foot of English Street) $10 per person OR pay-what-you-can See you there! *** Its always a treat when NANCY JANE SMALL comes to Acoustic Spotlight, so plan to attend this Wednesday, February 26. Nancy is a talented singer-songwriter who will charm you with her gentle songs of love and awareness. Opportunities to sing along, too! As usual, Ill play an opening set starting around 8 pm, possibly with help from the lovely JULIA WEBB; and the feature act starts at 9. Details and directions below. *** Ruby Tuesday comes every Tuesday at 7:30 pm, and its open to performers, aspiring performers, and audience alike. The evening is of special interest to musicians looking for a chance to grow. Perhaps youd like the opportunity to practice playing in front of people, or playing along with other musicians; or perhaps youre a songwriter whod like feedback on a work in progress. Its also a terrific opportunity to just jam along, or just listen. The Ruby goes around the circle: when it comes to you, you can choose to play a song (by yourself or with others), request a song, or pass it on. Lots of fun. Old East Studios, 755 Dundas Street East (between Lyle and Rectory). You can bring friends if you like; since theres no obligation to perform, some people just like to listen, possibly request songs, and enjoy the community atmosphere. The S.O.U.P. meet every Monday night at Old East Studios, 755 Dundas Street in London. If you are interested in learning to play the ukulele or to jam come join all the ukers from 7 - 9 pm. We will be offering beginners classes in the near future at Old East Studios so stay tuned for further information. We play songs from two songbooks that we have compiled of over 100 songs. If you decide youd like to join, you can download all songs from the internet. No previous musical experience necessary. Just come and be prepared to play, sing and have fun! Pay what you can.
