Here is a live edge dining table made of sustainably harvested - TopicsExpress

Here is a live edge dining table made of sustainably harvested Elm. The Elm was cut into a whopping 44 wide and 3 thick slab and air cured for 4 years. Over time, the middle portion exhibited excessive checking (cracking). We ended up vertically ripping the checked portion out creating two halves. We then joined the two halves back together at the requested 36 width. The wood was weathered and grey when we acquired it & we were pleasantly surprised to see the character and colors of the wood once planed down. It kind of resembles a painted horse with its bold color variations. This piece was commissioned by a super cool couple in Central Illinois. They sent these pictures and blew us away with how well this piece fit into their beautiful kitchen and dining area! Thanks for the challenge! #liveedgediningtable #kentuckyliveedge
