Here is a message I just left on Healthcare.govs facebook page. Read it for grins, or whatever. All of it is unfortunately true. I doubt I will receive a response from my federal government. You are not going to like this, but this is MY story: I first tried to sign up for healthcare through Healthcare.gov in mid October of 2013. It was not until Dec. 31, 2013, that I was able to sign up, despite more than 25 phone calls to Healthcare.gov. Then my real problems began. After paying my binder fee by credit card, I had only insurance for myself. I asked why my wife was not on it as well and was told Healthcare.gov information had to be resubmitted. That resulted in us having two separate accounts with Coventry, one listing only myself and the other listing both of us. In late January I was informed my policy had been terminated. We got an insurance broker involved and were told by Coventry of Kansas that we were indeed insured. Then, I got a bill that said I owed Coventry $709, which I did not, because my credit card was billed and my Feb. 10 check was cashed. In early March I got a letter from Coventry saying that if my $709 bill were not paid by June 2, 2014, the insurance would be cancelled as of March 31, 2014. I went online with Coventry and received a message that my coverage was already terminated, even though it showed one claim had been paid and two others were approved. My insurance broker became involved again and we were told again that not only was I terminated, but that I had terminated the coverage myself. Healthcare.gov was contacted and they said they showed no request from me to terminate coverage. Then, on Saturday, my wife and I each received Certificate of Health Plan Coverage that stated we had applied for coverage, that it had been implemented and ended all on the same day of Jan. 1, 2014. I am currently on the line with Coventry customer service that assures me I have NO insurance with them but that they cannot explain how Coventry has received three payments from me that they have kept for this NON Insurance. I asked for a telephone number of their legal department so that I can have my lawyer contact them. I have currently been on hold for 20 minutes and anticipate being hung up on at any moment.
