Here is a message from Fremont High School leadership we received - TopicsExpress

Here is a message from Fremont High School leadership we received today, if anybody is interested, they are having a community meeting today at 5:30pm around the changes coming to the school. Here is the message: You have somehow been involved in witnessing and shaping the changes at Fremont High School since its most recent reconstitution in 2012. You have seen how we work and that we believe in transformation and restoring our relationship with the community so that we can be a beacon, despite the few resources and supports weve received. We have many alum working diligently for our families, including Principal Sanchez, several teachers and support staff, myself, and we have all come back because we believe that our community deserves a great school, and one that works along side our community to make our neighborhood safer and healthier. Our community has voted in favor of building us a new campus (Measure J) and bringing more funds for Linked Learning (Measure N). We were told in April that we would receive support from a district team in the Fall to continue to Transform and galvanize interest and commitment to Tier III Intervention across broad stakeholders (see attached PDF). We did not. I was at that School Board meeting with our Principal, as we presented about Fremonts status then and how we have worked to heal from the constant changes and reforms, where we saw the document attached. See the video: Principal Sanchez & CSM Baez Present at Board April 29, 2014. On Thursday, Jan. 8th from 5:30-7pm Central leadership will roll out the New Plan for Fremont, or at least the process that we will undergo once again to change our school. Now, there is a call for any design team, including charter companies, to submit a Request For Proposal for the Fremont community. I ask on behalf of our families, partners, teachers, administration, alumni, voters, and our students, that you please come, watch, Tweet, take notes, witness this process with us, so that we can ensure community input and that our engagement work does not get thrown out. We will meet in the cafeteria at 5pm. This will not be the last meeting, we will keep you posted on future dates and times! Have a thriving Thursday!
