Here is a more accurate in detail description of how this virus is passed from one person to another. It isnt just healthcare workers who can get this and while is it not airborne and supposedly cant be gotten through food or water,infection occurs from direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, or other bodily fluids or secretions (stool, urine, saliva, semen) of infected people. Infection can also occur if broken skin or mucous membranes of a healthy person come into contact with environments that have become contaminated with an Ebola patient’s infectious fluids such as soiled clothing, bed linen, or used needles. Keep in mind many people in the community do not always have intact skin and may no know it if they get urine, feces, or blood in a small cut or mucous membrane from say public restrooms or someone not practicing good hand hygiene and not all these things are in copious amounts as to be visible.
