Here is a note from a returning customer who is ordering a second pair. I wanted to provide feedback on my D2 shoes. I see they are now called the Ultra Classic, but back in 2007 when I purchased them, they were simply a custom D2 shoe. Anyway, I wanted to let D2 know what a great investment they have been for me. For years (at more than 15k miles per year and Cat1 racing) through the late 90’s and early 2000’s I wore whatever the top of the line Shimano shoe was and never got more than a year or so of wear before they broke down, usually I’d pull the carbon sole away from the upper…I must have gone through 5 or more pairs. I also tried a pair of Rocket 7 shoes. These were a better experience than the Shimano shoes, lasting longer, but only about 2 years on the Rocket 7 shoes. In about 2007 and I invested in my D2 shoes. I have had nothing but a great experience with the D2 shoes as evidenced by getting almost 7 years (7 years!!!) out of these shoes. Granted I’ve slowed down my riding in the last couple years, but still have easily more than 75k miles on these shoes. It is finally time for a new pair. I’d argue that a pair of D2 shoes is the best money you can spend on cycling equipment. Forget carbon wheels, new frames or power meters until you get a pair of D2 shoes. Easily the best money Ive spent on any cycling related expenditure. Thank you D2! Chad in El Cerrito, California
