Here is a poem written by one of our service users, Ella Black, who is 11. This poem won a school competition and as a result was accepted by the Young Writers National Award and will be published in a book called ‘The Power of Poetry’ in November. A rising star, for sure! The Glistening Sea by Ella Black The glistening, glorious sun shone down Like fire on the calm, sparkling sea. Waves softly swaying in the midday sun Gracefully, peacefully the turquoise water dances Slowly towards the shore. Dolphins happily play with joy Alongside the shimmering silver fish The fish play in the beautiful bay Swimming elaborately in- between Some swishy, swashy seaweed. Finally, the sea touches the soft golden sand Seaweed and crabs suddenly embrace the shore Crabs scuttle away to the jagged, jutting rock To find their way home for the night.
