Here is a post to stir the pot, I have noticed many people who post pictures showing their french bulldogs that are DQ colors getting bashed and then deleting the post. So here are my pictures. I own DQ colors and standard colors. I own a BLUE brindle, a CHOCOLATE brindle and after years I have produced my first litter of color having blues, chocolates and black and tans in the litter. There is also a picture of my imported sable female, who is from a big show breeder and her pedigree has NO holes, every dog is a finished showdog and her father is multi champion, and the kicker??? I bought her not knowing her DNA, and she carries the genes to produce black and tan puppies so all those people saying they are mixes if they produce those colors, guess they may want to go have a talk with her breeder to tell them they have mixed dogs I dont think they would handle that to nicely. For alittle educational purpose for people who dont know. Blue and chocolate are diluted colors. These colors along with the tan point gene are NATURAL in french bulldogs. But when brought to a group of people in the AKC(which is a CLUB not a actual dog BREED registry) who decide what is allowed or not allowed with the breed they decided due to the flashy color that it would make it harder to judge and didnt want a dog judged just based on flashy color. These colors were bred into the french bulldogs in the 1800s when people took the larger bulldogs that were used for bullbaiting and decided to breed many different smaller terrier breeds with the bulldogs to create the smaller bulldog we now know as the french bulldog. When these people decided to breed the terriers into the bulldogs they not only got the size passed on, but the genetics to produce these colors. The only color out there in the frenchie world that is a mix are the frenchies popping up being MERLE, these were created recently by crossing merle chihuahuas with a frenchie they are NOT natural in the breed. Now sadly, YES because of these flashy colors there are WAY to many bad breeders out there who breed crap dogs with bad everything just because they carry a color or are a pretty color. And this is giving these colors a bad rap. If done right they are as beautiful and healthy as any of the other french bulldogs out there. I worked hard the last few years to finally get some color into my program, I could of take the easy way and got crappy dogs but I decided on quality. My colored girls are as healthy as my classic colored dogs. My girls have clear hips, elbows, spine and patella.. My girls have perfect hearing through the BAER test, My girls have never produced cleft palates or heart defects and we back that up with our puppies. Not all people who have litters of color are in it for the money my girls are health tested, and the sad thing is when someone sees a colored frenchie they automatically say the breeder is a backyard breeder and that they dont test the dogs. Those people need to ASK before they ASSUME. A frenchie is a frenchie, NO MATTER WHAT COLOR IT IS!! The drama should stop on this board so people who want to just ENJOY the breed can continue doing so. I recommend anyone who is mad about this post or feels free to spit fire(which I know there will be some!) please do us all a favor and go join one of the strict french bulldog groups that is for classic colors only because I love all colors and dont judge by hair color on a dog. And i will NOT be deleting this post no matter how many people bash it. If the administration feels like it should be deleted I understand. But I felt it needed to be done with how many people I have seen bashed and bullied in the last week over a picture of their loved pet that people feel are a bad color.
