Here is a question my good friend asked. Can the Queens - TopicsExpress

Here is a question my good friend asked. Can the Queens highway be made in to a toll road (The Silver Jubilee Bridge (Runcorn/Widnes Bridge)). Here is the official answer, I am not an intelligent man so to me this might have well been written in Swahili. There appears to be little specific information with regard to the legitimacy of charging tolls on the Queens Highway, which I can identify. The definition from the dictionary (attached) would appear to indicate that such things as a bridge paid for by private funds, can be incorporated into the Queens Highway but, because it is in private ownership, charges can be made. It occurs to me that the Government would prefer such an arrangement, in any case, because that would save them the expense of funding it, and would skirt around the issues referred to in the second attachment - ie; the obstruction of traffic caused by travellers having to stop to pay their tolls. However, do remember that modern technology can now identify your car and charge you while you are travelling at 70mph, and so the second definition of relating to restricting the highway, would not apply. Please keep the questions coming even if they are from beyond the grave.
