Here is a quick fact check regarding the concocted rent case on - TopicsExpress

Here is a quick fact check regarding the concocted rent case on Senator Talha Mahmood: 1. The plaintiff, Ms. Bilqees, depicted herself as a window while registering the case. The reality is that her husband was alive and enjoying good health at the time of filing the case against Mr. Talha. It can be logically assumed that the plaintiff had malicious intent. 2. The landlord admitted that Mr. Talha has been paying his rent on time since he rented the house. This clarifies that Senator Talha Mahmood never claimed ownership of the home. 3. The point to be understood here is that landlord served a month’s eviction notice to Mr. Talha. Senator Talha Mahmood obliged and gave his reaffirmation of vacating the house within the time period mentioned in the rental agreement. However, the landlord and her sons started threatening the Senator and his family within 2 days of serving the notice. 4. The landlord, in her application to court, claimed that Mr. Talha presented fabricated and concocted documents of house ownership. However, Muhammad Talha Mahmood never submitted any such document. 5. It is also a fact that during Mr. Talha’s occupancy of the property, not a single development or repair work was carried out by the landlord despite assurances made at the time of agreement. Hence, Senator Talha Mahmood had to spend 1.5 Million rupees for repairs and renovation. The bill for the repairs was sent to the landlord, but it was never paid. Actually, the landlord wanted to evade the bill payment that was spent on her own home by her tenant. 6. After the landlord was sure that her unlawful and fabricated story wasn’t selling, she contacted a 3rd party to mediate the issue. Mr. Talha offered to raise the rent. From the facts above, it is clear that it was a simple matter between a landlord and her tenant. The news reports, concerning to this event, were politically motivated and had everything but truth. If Senator Talha Mahmood was, for the sake of argument, absconder in the above case, he could never hold the position of chairperson Senate standing committee for Interior and Narcotics control. In fact, the facts prove that Senator Talha never forged any documents nor threatened the landlord or her relatives of any dire consequences. In fact, he only asked for compensation regarding all the development work in the home that he undertook from his own pocket. The rent laws of Pakistan are also clear about this situation and Landlord has to pay all the bills for development and renovation work that is carried out.
