Here is a set of questions that have been on my mind this week, last sun. we had a wonderful time in Gods presence at Woodrow Christian Church, and a wonderful meal for Pastor appreciation, I feel humbled to be in this position, knowing only God could have put me here. Today is Pastor appreciation at my other home church, Lighthouse Assembly and it begs the question; Who Pastors the Pastor? Who Shepherds the Shepherd? Who Mentors the Mentor? All Pastors realize that with the title comes the responsibility of always being on call. Have we ever thought, who does the Pastor call when he is in the hospital or needs someone to visit, or feels depressed? Now the Potomac Dist. has a network of resources and individuals to aid Pastors, however as wonderful as they are, they can not meet every single need all the time. So lets go back in the Bible, the books of Moses particularly. When the land of Israel was being dispersed there was one group of people that did not receive a set plot of land for their inheritance, that was the Levites, the Pastors of the Old Testament....Their inheritance was God himself, and his house. They were in charge of taking care of the sanctuary and leading others in worship. So to answer the earlier question Who Pastors the Pastor, it is God himself. In the same token we need to realize that the pastor needs natural accolades as well, so today where ever your church happens to be, where ever you call your house of worship, please let your Pastor know you appreciate him/her.
