Here is a small word of encouragement for the parents of Type 1 Diabetics.. Just so you have a little understanding where I come from.. I was insulin dependent in 1967. I was all of 2 years old and my parents were told I would not see 18 years on this plane of existence. Guess what. The Doctors were wrong. I am now 49 years old and still have my eye-sight and all of my limbs. The problems I am currently facing mainly do not have anything to do with my Diabetes. I have been lucky and have managed to set up support networks every where I have gone and all has worked out for me so far... Take the time now to help a Type 1 Diabetic talk to those that are close and can provide a safety net for those unexpected Highs and Lows that seem to plague all Type 1 Diabetics.
