Here is a statement from the owners of Teignmouth Pier We would like to assure locals and visitors that the pier and its outside deck area is safe. However this year there will be limited access. This is only due to the time and insurance constraints, we had to prioritise works and we felt that the shore end of the pier got top priority. This is partly due to the indomitable British weather and we wanted the all year round part of the business to be safe and secure and a colourful environment. We expect to crack on with repairs and upgrading the outside deck after this summer season. There really is only so much we can do.
