As you can tell from the top of the page, her name is Jody and her journey has been long and arduous. She was a vivacious, fun loving beauty who was comfortable riding a motorcycle or dressed up to go dancing. Several years back, they diagnosed her with Arnold’s Chiari and they performed a “simple” operation to relieve the pressures that built up in her skull. The operation itself was a success but the ensuing recovery took years before the fog that was created in her brain by the surgery, disappeared. She hit rock bottom just as the fog was lifting and realized that she was not living, just existing. She determined to take a hold of life and ride it like a motorcycle that was trying to dislodge its rider (bring it back to your control) and she has never dropped her ride since. The period of inactivity, from operation to the day the fog began to lift, created other problems: weight gain, muscle atrophy, sciatica issues, and so on, and so on. A year ago, she set herself on a path of recovery when she happened on Lisa’s site and “skinny fiber”. She has lost the weight, fought back against the muscle atrophy and other ailments, but most important of all, she found her indomitable spirit once again. Will things be exactly the way it was before? No, like anything that you glue back together, it is good but never like it was. My bride has glued herself back together and come back to we who waited. There is a song “Lucky Man” and the title says it all for me, our children and our grandchildren. We are glad we are part of the ride to better days. Suavecito. lisaskinnyfriends
