Here is a thought - Back in 2012 MEGALI submitted rule changes to the Judiciary. Under their proposal to Rule II (3) Oversight (A) Standards of Conduct: "a Guardian ad Litem is encouraged to obtain mentoring services from another, more experienced Guardian ad Litem" - this was being proposed should the Guardian ad litem in question have a complaint filed against him/ her. One has to ask - had this gone through and you had a senior Guardian ad litem you were complaining about - who or where would this person go to for a mentor? This is being asked because there are several very senior Guardians ad litem that probably could use guidance that the courts are failing to give and that MEGALI members would also stumble on. Where would these people turn for mentoring help? Just a thought.
