Here is a very short video of my boy Gremlin. He was rescued as part of a litter of 5 and went into foster care, the others all thrived, however from the start this boy had problems. He was vomiting after every feed and we werent sure what was wrong. Numerous vet visits and they kept saying it was cat flu or other things that did not fit, each one gave medication, money thrown away at no help. I left the litter in foster but took him back into my care. Through lots of trial and elimination I have found that he cannot tolerate chicken, lamb, beef or fish, raw or cooked or boiled or roasted. When he eats any of these his whole body rejects it, his stomach and chest convulse and he cries so horribly its almost like a scream of agony, and it will continue until he has vomited it all up. He can eat any vegetable (loves creamed corn, sweet potato, butternut pumpkin, avocado to name some), eggs, kitten milk, sometimes cheese or cream, and will do anything for his bottle of formula. I finally found a vet who listened to me who said that for the first time in her experience (and mine as well as I feed a raw diet to all the rescues) it seems that he is intolerant to protein in the meat. She recommended using human baby food as its cooked at a much higher temperature and changes the protein somehow. So from all the range of baby good I bought for him, all he will eat is Heinz chicken and sweet corn which I mix with Heinz chicken and pumpkin rice. I have also started adding the baby rice which has iron in it. But as you can see from this short video (my phone battery died otherwise youd see a lot more!) he loves having his bottle and will drink the whole lot but its a slow process and takes about 49 minutes. He is now about 5 months old but is the size of 8 - 10 weeks old. I love this little boy and I guess he will be another special needs rescue who will stay with me for his life.
