Here is an American hero who has served his country whole heartedly. Sgt Cory Remsburg has met the President three times. The first time was in France in 2009 where he was taking part in ceremonies to mark the 65th anniversary of the D - day landings in world war II. He later went on to join the troops in Afghanistan where he was badly injured during an attack by the Taliban. The second meeting was less than a year after the first one. It was at a military hospital outside Washington. President Obama had gone to visit wounded troops and saw a familiar face. Sgt Cory was lying in a bed and was in bad shape. He had been severely wounded in Afghanistan with a brain damage and a track of stitches across his skull and was partly paralyzed. This did not stop him from struggling to give the President a smile and a handshake. Lastly they met 2 weeks ago in Phoenix. Sgt Cory still in relatively bad shape did something which no one expected him to do again. He struggled to stand up and salute his commander in chief.
