Here is an HONEST opinion...Again just an opinion so lets not get all crazy: I like Tannehill a lot. Solid QB.... BUT, Im just not sure if I LOVE him enough to be convinced he will be a franchise QB. Is he the best QB we have had since Marino & Pennington? Sure (But thats not saying much). And before you start saying how our o-line is injured, doesnt have enough around him, this and that, etc... I get it. But every team has injuries. Here is what Omar Kelly said today that REALLY made me think: Theres one thing I FIRMLY BELIEVE. A GOOD quarterback makes everyone - TE, RB, O-line, Defense - around him better. No debating that. A good quarterback evades sacks, buys his receivers time. A good quarterback throws a WR, TE, open, gives him a chance. A good quarterback keeps a defense and a safety honest, preventing teams from creeping up on the run. A good QB owns time of possession. Those are ALL the things a good quarterback does. If your quarterback isnt doing those things then what is he? And most importantly, you dont need to make excuses for a GOOD quarterback. They just make it work with what they have. Chad Pennington had trash for an O-line and no receivers in 2008. Didnt stop him from winning 11 games. Just sayin.
