Here is an examples of one of the stacks I was referring to. Its for concentration and anxiety/stress reduction. Aniracetam Complex a. Ingredients i. Aniracetam- 1,500mg ii. DMAE Bitartrate- 1,000mg iii. Vinpocetine- 30mg iv. Sulbutiamine- 500mg v. N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine-500mg *Note- I may be adding L-theanine and/or Picamilon to this complex in an effort to increase the reduction of anxiety/stress that it offers. I will keep everyone posted if I decide to make that change. Anyway, here is what you need to know about this particular stack... How it works i. Aniracetam is a fat-soluble nootropic that enhances your brain’s ability to utilize the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine and helps to reduce anxiety/stress. Acetylcholine helps to improve motor function, learning, and memory. It is a very important neurotransmitter for overall cognitive health. Aniracetam causes your body to utilize this quite rapidly so it is necessary to supplement Aniracetam with a choline supplement. In this case I used DMAE Bitartrate as my choline supplement of choice because it increases the amount of Acetylcholine in your brain and also has been shown to help increase energy, motivation, and vigilance. ii. Next I added Vinpocetine which is a vasodilator. This means that it reduces inflammation in the brain, a.k.a. that “brain fog” people tend to struggle with. On top of that it increases cerebral blood flow and helps the brain to function better as a result. This gives Vinpocetine a synergistic effect with many different nootropics, especially the ones in this stack. iii. The last two ingredients I added were Sulbutiamine and N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine. The idea behind adding these two nootropics together is that Sulbutiamine works to UPREGULATE DOPAMINE RECEPTORS in the brain. This means your brain needs less dopamine to achieve desired effects such as elevated mood, motivation, energy, etc. So, I combined this with NALT, which is a nootropic that acts as a precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine. Thus, it increases the levels of both of these neurotransmitters in the brain. My theory is that combining Sulbutiamine, a nootropic that makes your brain require less dopamine for a positive effect, with NALT, a nootropic that increases levels of dopamine in your brain will have a synergistic effect that yields great results. Side effects i. If you don’t take Aniracetam with a choline supplement, or get enough choline in your diet, then you can get a headache from it. The DMAE is typically enough to avoid this but just to be safe I would eat eggs (a great source of choline) before taking this stack. Aniracetam and Sulbutiamine are fat-soluble so they need to be taken with a meal anyway. Adding choline through food while taking it isn’t always necessary, just my suggestion. ii. No serious side effects have really been found with any of these nootropics. Some research suggests that long-term daily use of NALT in high doses might lead to down-regulation of dopamine receptors but this isn’t proven to be fact. However, this is part of the reason I added an upregulator of dopamine receptors for balance just in case. iii. If taken regularly, tolerance to Sulbutiamine may begin to build. If this happens then you can always take this stack with the Sulbutiamine once or twice a week, and then the other days without it.
