Here is an idea for your New Years Resolution - DONT MAKE ONE. Yes you heard it here first. A fitness, body composition & nutritional page saying to not make a New Years Resolution! How about assessing your current plan and progress first. Then consult or make the necessary adjustments to your CURRENT plan of attack. Start it when it is appropriate to. If that is tomorrow, then great. If it is the 1st day of next year, then great too. Just start it when you can commit to it fully and at a time that doesnt add pressure to it like saying oh this is my New Years Resolution blah blah. How many of them fail after 2 weeks? Pretty much all of them. Starting a NEW plan of attack doesnt mean doing something drastic, something completely different or something totally extreme. If it is you will generally fail. If you make the correct changes to your current plan it will be far easier to adjust to not to mention adherence will be a piece of cake! Plus results and progress will be achieved a lot quicker and that is what correct plan management is all about. So sure having a start date or day and drawing the line in the sand is needed but do it in a way that is far less pressured or over thought about. Dont scrap everything you are doing, just make the necessary changes to it. Yes goal dependant it may mean for some individuals more adjustments to the current plan is made but by keeping as much as your regular routine or plan intact will only help with adapting to the necessary changes in a far easier and positive manner. Ready for it, if you are YOLOing until the X date and happy, then great. If you are not in a position to do that nor want to do that, then all good as well. But remember goals are to be viewed as LONG TERM goals and at the right time and right place there will be that flexibility to have some free time. No diet is a 365 day a year on point thing, flexible dieting is also about having flexibility with HOW you diet. So a good coach will have a long term plan in place and overall dietary flexibly will be structured as so. I will say right now that I have NEVER told nor forced any of my clients to diet or track macros 365 days a year. Its more to it than that. So enjoy your New Years, start your plan when it suits you and when you are ready, then just get on with it. Simple!
