Here is an interesting bit of trivia I discovered today: Filming is just starting in Big Stone Gap on the movie adaptation of the book Big Stone Gap. The movie will star Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson, & Whoopi Goldberg. Turns out that Patrick Wilsons father and grandfather are from Big Stone Gap. His family still owns his grandparents old house, and he is staying there while they are filming the movie. On a side note, he has a connection to our family - having played the character William Barret Travis in The Alamo, the person for whom Barrett is named after. Long story why - but mainly because Thomson was obsessed with the Alamo when he was younger, and Davy Crockett was not an option for a name.
