Here is an interesting thought. Do you get regular massages on chronically tight muscles? Do you visit an ART/Graston office routinely with the same complaint? Do you require Kinesiotaping prior to every competition? If you answered yes to any of these questions you should really be asking yourself, Why is this so? Why are these muscles always tight when I get soft tissue treatments. The body is designed to move freely with no restrictions or hindrances. Ask your Massage Therapist, Chiropractor or Physical Therapist why these muscles continue to be tight and what can be done to correct this persistent problem. ART offices, Graston offices, and Massage Therapists are great at reducing the tension on tight muscles, but too many of these offices never delve into the question of why were these muscles tight in the first place. They are only addressing half of the problem. It is quite easy to feel a tight muscle and use some soft tissue technique to reduce this tightness. It is quite difficult to deduce why this happened in the first place. THIS IS WHERE WE CAN HELP. Our system of analysis and treatment is unique and no other protocol delivers results as effective and as PERMANENT! Quick example: Years ago a young patient would come in at the same time each year for shin splints. We would utilize our soft tissue treatments and give her relief in 4-5 treatments (Not Bad!). We taught her father how to tape her for additional relief. Upon implementing our new protocols last year, she felt immediate relief in one visit and did not require the taping any longer. She would normally have been in by now because of soccer season, and as it turns out she still is symptom free. That is a better result if you ask me. Take away from this piece: You shouldnt have to rely on ART/Graston/Kinesiotaping/Rocktaping on a very regular basis. If your issues continue to return, someone is missing a key factor in getting to the permanent solution.
