Here is an update from Cyndie Hall with Neighborhood Network of Rockford on the shooting incident that took place on Saturday, September 21, at the Mobil gas station: Update: On Saturday, September 21st, 2013 at approximately 2:17 a.m. Rockford Police Officers responded to the Mobil Gas Station located at 1344 E. State Street for a report of gunshots fired. Near the same time frame, officers were also sent to a local hospital for a shooting victim. During the initial investigation, officers learned that two men had a verbal confrontation inside the gas station. The confrontation continued outside where shots were fired and one of the men was struck at least one time by a bullet. The victim from the gas station shooting, identified as 22 year old Jordan M. Bounsinh, was brought to the hospital by his friends where he was suffering from life threatening wounds. Rockford Police Detectives conducted follow up investigation into the incident. The results of the follow up investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. The following charge was authorized: Tronte D. Pickett, 19 years of age, Rockford, Illinois Attempted First Degree Murder The charge against Pickett is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
