Here is an update from Jacobs mom about his surgery. So here is my best synopsis of the events of the day... The nurse told us that they would call every hour during the procedure to give us updates. She also told me if I hadnt heard anything by noon to ask the desk for an update. I waited patiently until 12:05 and then decided to ask for an update. At 12:15 my phone rang and it was the head nurse telling me that Dr. Jimenez had stepped out and was coming up to talk to us. I am not going to lie...my heart stopped. But Dr. Jimenez came bearing good news. The surgery was over and it went well. He told us that Jacob very clearly needed the surgery. When he finally got in to the cyst he said it was like a geyser. It shot up high and apparently continued spraying for quite some time. He had a narrow opening between arteries but was able to get the laser exactly where he wanted to get a cut a nice window. He got the other window cut and feels very confident that this is going to be exactly what Jacob needed. He is anticipating long term success. We finally got back to see Jacob and are amazed at how well he is doing. He has a headache but is already saying he feels more clear and less pressure.
