Here is an updated timeline of events regarding the hoarding/aussie situation. Dec.23- Marina Tarashevska posts a video of 6 assumed stray dogs off 175, asking for help feeding or possibly catching Dec. 24 Meagan Rose Serrano receives the location of the dogs and goes to leave food and blankets. Is met by Kay Chambers, owner of the dogs and claiming to be owner of the property. Eventually allows Meagan onto property and explains she has been overwhelmed by the number of dogs she has and agrees to meeting with Meagan the next day to take 1 or 2 to foster. It is learned that 11 puppies (3-4 weeks old) are also on the property as well as another 9 dogs. Dec.25 Marina arrives at the property and talks with Kay, but things become frustrating for both women. Meagan delivers dogs houses from Linda Coffman to the property in hopes of sheltering the dogs and getting Kay to trust her and Marina. DAS was called while Marina and Meagan are on property and Kay becomes hostile. Kay demands Marina not be involved with her or the dogs because she felt Marina was her enemy. Animal Control worked with Kay and Meagan and eventually were able to get the owner to agree upon releasing the two litters of puppies and their nursing mothers. Deborah McMennamy Whittington was called to the property to help transport and also communicate with Kay. Take Me Home Pet Rescue graciously welcomed in the litters and mothers later in the evening. Dec.27 Deb and Kris Kelley return to the property to work with Kay and are allowed to take 2 aussie/lab mixes to seek vet help at Mercy Animal Clinic. Noel and Alaska are believed to be 18 months and 5 months respectively, and it is believed Noel is Alaskas mother despite being so young. Lone Star Rescue agrees to take in Alaska and Noel is fostered with Meagan. Dec. 28 Deb, Meagan and Amy Ford Dyer visit property to take pictures of dogs and living conditions. Dec. 29. Deb, Kris Kelly and Meagan return to the property and remove 3 male dogs to be taken to Mercy. These 3 were Martin, Lewis, and Wooly Bear. Dec. 30 Deb and Meagan meet with Kay before Animal Services arrives to re-check the property. DAS arrives and spends hours working with Kay to figure out the best solution for the dogs. 3 males and 1 female are removed from the property and taken to DAS under agreement that these dogs would have a hold until Deb, Meagan or the cruelty officer was contacted. DAS only took these dogs because there were no fosters/rescues for them. December 31. Martin and Lewis are taken into independent foster homes. Wooly is left with Mercy pending a foster home and is undergoing heart worm treatment. *** DAS officers meet with Kay and she is claiming to have an attorney, so DAS must leave and not take the 7 dogs left behind. Jan.1 Four dogs being held at DAS are euthanized Jan.2 Wooly Bear is taken into an independent foster home, Jenny Torres where he will continue heart worm treatment. Jan. 5 Deb calls DAS to take pictures for new foster homes and learns the four dogs have been euthanized. Meagan and Deb make statements to the press at 5:30, the City of Dallas issues a press-statement at 6:15. Jan.6 DAS holds a press conference with Dr. Cate McManus to answer questions about an investigation into the euthanasia. Meagan drafts a formal letter of complaint and speaks to the media at 3:30.
