Here is another Only in Kodiak story...One Christmas we were at some friends house for a party and all of us kids that were there, decided we wanted to go sledding. So my brother and I walked home to get our sleds, with out letting our parents know. He was maybe 10 at the time and I was maybe six or seven. Anyway we got close to our house and we were up on this hill and Mary Lawhead said that there was a man on our roof. Sure enough she was right!! So my brother told Mary and I to go get our parents and Bob went to a friends house to call the Police. A little bit later here come the chief of police(Chief Vicorey I think was his name...if Im spelling it correctly) with my brother in his car. He told us that he had arrested the man and everything was ok. But that we needed to stay over where our parents were, to sled. Later, my Dad came back from the police station and said he filled out all the paper work and it was all ok. Here we found out a few years later that it was my Dad and a neighbor up on our roof. They were making deer tracks and sled marks in the snow on the roof and in the yard after they had put all the presents under the tree so we would know that Santa had been there, so of course the police went along with it and let us believe that they had arrested the Big Bad Burglar of Kodiak Island that night and we would all be safe!! Only in Kodiak!!
