Media censorship is a major contributing factor allowing the corruption to go unchallenged. The SA Express News is just now touching on DA Reed’s cover-ups BUT still tip-toeing around the underlying criminal activity that has been reported to them for years. SA EN editor Mike Leary was mailed certified letter # 7010 3090 0002 7075 1527 on 7/23 along with a CD containing official court documents submitted to US District Judge Xavier Rodriguez concerning federal civil rights case 5:13-CV-00051 naming DA Reed as an accomplice to efforts by Mayor Castro, City Attorney Bernard, SAPD Chief McManus and others to cover up long-term public/police corruption. The court documents show how DA Reed’s staff (Adriana Biggs, Jason Wolff, Brian Chandler) falsely published documents stating that they didn’t have jurisdiction and couldn’t investigate reports of criminal activity inside the City/County. They docs show that First Asst. DA Cliff Herberg ( and Texas Ranger Hank Whitman) falsely stated that no investigation was opened as none was warranted BUT a letter to the AG asking that records and a search warrant issued to inspect the bank accounts of City IT manager Jose Medina be kept secret, a voice mail from ADA Barry Elliott concerning a meeting where he reviewed proof of the crimes and the actual search warrant prove that Herberg was being dishonest and an investigation was opened and quickly closed to protect the guilty.
