Here is another reason why I am always polite and courteous (unless you disrespect me-then I will let you know in the way you give it-but that does not happen often): Outside of Lenny Kravitz, Meshell Ndegeocello is my favorite artist. I love her creativity, style, the way she talks, her ability to be controversial-she is everything I like in a person-and I have never met her. I have seen her a couple of times in concert, so when she opened up a date for New Orleans, I immediately purchased my ticket. This was about three weeks ago. Today I was going through my personal email and I run across an email from the director of the center where she is performing. As I read it, he was apologizing for a mistake that he made that basically refunded me my money for my ticket and I would need to purchase the ticket again. My first mind was to call him and have a discussion with him about the situation, but, as I read the email 5 more times, I received that he was sincere with his apology, and when I called him that was confirmed. He told me I was the first person to purchase a ticket. He then answered all of my questions and, (look at God!) is going to put me with the organizations members so I can meet Meshell personally! Also, he is going to comp me with libations from the café! I enjoyed our convo so much I purchased 2 tickets :) and he waived all of the other fees and charges! (I was about to run around this house)! Now what would have happened if I had the discussion with him? I probably would have blocked my own blessings. Controlling our responses to situations can be to our benefit-if we try! #wontHedoit?
