Here is another update on our lives in South Africa: I last - TopicsExpress

Here is another update on our lives in South Africa: I last wrote you concerning our trip to Ramsgate in the Durban area. I will pick up with the last morning there and move on to Pretoria. We stopped by the National Leaders Forum of the AFM (Apostolic Faith Mission denomination), because Ron had a short presentation to give them about the 20th anniversary of Africa Missions. Attached, you will find a picture of that forum - the AFM leaders of the east coast of South Africa (picture attached). At that meeting, I met two of the students from the Central Bible College in Mabopane, who are now pastors of churches (picture attached). We first met them in 1985 when we visited Gerry and Lelan Akins in South Africa. It was so nice that they remembered me and came up to shake my hand. We had a good reunion reliving that time. God is such a very good God! We arrived home to a flurry of activity. We met Jerry LaBorde of Crawford, TX (attached picture), who is visiting and staying with us for a couple of weeks. He is quite an anointed minister and singer. We made a close bond with him immediately. Sunday was spent driving him to Johannesburg for a service there (7am - 2pm), then back to Pretoria in time for an evening service there. The results of those services will remain recorded in heaven for eternity. People were saved, healed, delivered and encouraged in their Christian walk. On Friday before that Sunday, Judy and Rina made a trip south to a game park for an overnight womens conference, returning home on Saturday afternoon. Judy saw giraffes, rhinos, and kudus. The kudu (a large elk-like creature - picture attached) was just ambling his way through the park. I have been working on some large projects. Ron and Rinas trip to the US from September 18-November 3 of this year is on my desk. I need to make airline arrangements for them from place to place. Then, we are involved in revamping the Haakdoornboom campus. It is time for a very much needed upgrade in facilities and faculty. And, also, I am working on revamping the operations at the office for greater efficiency and productivity. Judy is busy working with Rina on the 20th anniversary dinner of Africa Missions for this Thursday morning. Videos and pictures and decorations, etc. Over 100 pastors and their wives have been invited. This is a big deal! And Jeremy LaBorde is singing as just one of the highlights of the morning. So, as you can see, our time is more than full. We continue to have long days: 5:30am - 11pm or later (of course, with tea times throughout the day, served to our office). But still, it is a wonderful life, doing all that the Lord has commissioned us to do. We feel like we are living out a daily miracle every day! We are every moment conscious of your love and prayers and support for us in this very important and gargantuan task here in South Africa. We love your notes to us saying how you are praying for us. We absolutely could not make a step forward without your prayers and support in our behalf. Please know how much we love each and every one of you! Blessings, Gary & Judy
