Here is another way we can celebrate National Bison Day: by - TopicsExpress

Here is another way we can celebrate National Bison Day: by supporting the fundraising campaign of this young film producer for a long version of this documentary on the most important - last wild - buffalo herd in Turtle Island/the US - the Yellowstone National Park bison (the only genetically pure wild bison remaining that trace their ancestry to the original wild herds that roamed this continent). While this short version takes great pains to show the perspectives of all stakeholders in the controversial management of the Yellowstone herd, hopefully the longer version will be able to thoroughly and conclusively debunk the brucellosis (political) myth. The science and the facts can debunk this myth on their own. It is ironic that cattle ranchers decry the stance of wildlife advocates as an ideal by juxtaposing their need to make a living, while Native Americans very way of life that depended on the buffalo was almost completely destroyed through genocide of Native Americans as well as the buffalo. Wildlife advocates to not want to destroy peoples means of making a living, but only to bring fairness and balance to a critical ecological situation that affects us all. May we all earn right livelihoods with a sense of fairness and deep concern for all life. May we all have abundance while allowing our wildlife to enjoy their way of life as well - a vision of abundance for all that perhaps we all will share someday. May the Yellowstone Pte Oyate/Buffalo Nation roam again in freedom - in all their glory!
