Here is my DAILY VIP. I have 365 names in the jar, of people who touched my life in some way. Each day, for a year, I pull a random name and write about that person. You might be next! I want to show everyone that even incidental positive contact can change a life for the better. Daily VIP #10 - January 10, 2015 Elizabeth O. Dulemba I met Elizabeth through our mutual friend, Katie Davis. Several years ago, Katie invited me to her lovely home in New York, where she was having a pajama party of sorts with Elizabeth and Hope Anita Smith. They had just returned from Kindling Words. Elizabeth and I roomed together and talked for hours. Were both techno geeks and stayed up late talking techie stuff. We had a special connection and I knew I had made a friend for life. Since then, Elizabeth has become an integral part of Picture Book Month, each year creating our calendar that librarians, teachers, and bloggers use to plan their Picture Book Month. More than that, Elizabeth is one of the kindest, loving, and most creative people I know. When her book, LULAS BREW, came out, I sent her a cauldron purse to celebrate its release. Elizabeth is a special person, the kind of woman who will always stand by you as a friend and who is always willing to help a writer out. She has a huge heart and a big following because you cant help but fall in love with her when you meet her. So today, I honor my dear friend and amazing author/illustrator Elizabeth Dulemba, a Very Important Person to me, her family, and to a multitude of kidlit writers, librarians, teachers, students, and readers.
