Here is my VOTING experience in todays primary. 1. Poll Person (PP): I need to see your Drivers License. ME: Im pretty sure its ILLEGAL for you to ask me for one - isnt that disenfranchisement of a class of voters, to expect a photo ID? PP: Not in Missouri ... Supervisor cuts in, Here are acceptable forms of ID, which include an electric bill in your name...IF a photo ID is not available. ME: (Handing her my D. L.) Just seeing if it is fairly administered that a Photo I.D. is not required - it seems to be a pretty big deal to keeping voting open to all eligible. 2. P.P. Would you prefer a Republican or Democrat party ballot? ME: Neither. P.P. We do have Non-Partisan Ballots, but they have only Amendment Issues on them, no Offices. ME: I am a Libertarian ... SUPERVISOR jumps in: Oh, we DO have those ballots...oh ladies, here are Libertarian ballots if anyone asks ... 3. PP: Are you having a bad day? ME: Not until I came to vote and my PARTY seems to be an inconvenience at the Polls... PP: Hands me a LIBERTARIAN PARTY BALLOT and turns away... 4. PP: May I help you sir? JOE: I am married to her, sooooo... LOL
