Here is my conversation in a blog with a Muslim columnist From: Prudent Injeeli Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2014 12:46 PM To: Wajahat Masood Subject: Your article dated 19 August 2014 Dear Mr. Masood I would like to extend my deep gratitude to you for writing such a passionate and realistic article in Jang on the plight of the minorities in the land of the pure and pious. Such a line of thought is rarely seen from the overwhelming Muslim majority in this God-given land. This is certainly a bold stance and I thank you for taking it up. I myself belong to a minority faction of the land of the pure and pious and the holy of the holy, but presently am living abroad in a southeastern country in a sort of self-exile. The reasons are just too obvious to mention. I find it sickeningly ironic that a country that was created on the basis of minority issue, can turn so harshly on its own minorities. The problem I see is that everyone in this country is desperate to prove himself more religious and better muslman than others. And in this venture, he forgets that he is insaan first and muslamaan later. When the Muslims of Pakistan will realize this simple truth we are humans first and Muslims or Christians or Hindus etc. after, things may start looking better. Muslims all over the world and particularity in Pakistan are frantic about the Gaza incidents but are stiff silent on the persecution of Christians and other minorities in the Middle East. Because there it is Muslims beheading and slaughtering non-Muslims, with a choice: leave, convert or die. They are raping non-Muslims women and then killing them in cold blood, they are beheading young children and fixing their heads on stick and displaying in open fields and along roadsides. Any Muslim voice heard from any quarter. NO. And then the Muslims have the guts to wail on Gaza incidents. And if you analyze the Gaza situation objectively and fairly, (if you can) you will see where lies the root of all this doom and destruction. Just today there was a video clip on the net, showing Muslims of Gaza carrying on their shoulders, their daughters and claiming they will be very happy to tie bombs to the bodies of these little girls to blow up Israelis. I ask, why not blow up yourself, If you really have to? Why use your innocent children? Again, this is a viscous mind set. A culture of violence and death and a misconceived concept of martyrdom. Trying to reach paradise by climbing the stairs made of skulls. A former Israeli PM was asked, when will there be peace between Israel and Palestine and she said, when the Palestinians will start loving their children more than they hate the Israelis. Hinting at how they use their children as human shields) I do not mean to condone the actions of Israel, violence and bloodshed is condemnable everywhere by anyone and everyone, be it Israel or Hamas or anyone one else. All this rises out of a sick education of hatred for others and a twisted notion self-righteousness and superiority. But is there any hope, no, not at all. Its too late not only for us non-Muslims but even for Muslims. What goes around comes around. It is coming for Muslims and non-Muslims both in the Middle east. It is just a matter of deciding who is the real Muslim among the Muslims. This is what they are now deciding in Iraq and Syria and killing even the Muslims they think are not Muslims enough by their own standard. As for us, we are non-Muslims anyway. Who cares, neither the west nor the east. We dont make headlines and nor do we matter. We are not Mallala, that the west would go nuts for. My regrets and apologies if I have, (and I’m afraid I have) hurt your sensibilities and feelings. Anyway, thanks again for your article on the plight of the minorities. Peace, joy and blessing, to you and to all you hold dear. Dr. Prudent Injeeli (the Kafir) Dear sir I agree with your views and share your pain. The way ahead is to find points of commonality among human beings and not angles of differences. faith is neither a fit subject for public debate nor should it be allowed in any way to become a hurdle for human beings. Unfortunately, we human beings still have to wrestle with things which we should have disposed off many decades ago. thanks you for your kind lines and please keep guiding Wajahat Masood
