Here is my letter. Did you write yours? To the members of the Board of Education, As a community member I urge you to vote no on any contract extension. We, the community are waiting for the report from the Attorney General and wonder how anything can be extended without full disclosure of information that may change the outcome of such findings. My question is, if a contract were to be extended, are we liable for a buyout if there were founded allegations? This is irresponsible and whats the rush? Contacts are not up, its an extension. In the real world we dont get extensions until contracts end or are up. As I understand it there is another year for persons involved to continue to work. Our community needs thoughtful, reasonable, moral actions. This decision will make a difference in the lives of the community members, childrens programs and sets the moral standard for our expectations of MCSD. WILL THIS DECISION DEFINE YOU? And at what cost? Many members of the community have been harassed and ignored due to their decisions. Even some business have lost customers. Im sure I wouldnt put my own business in the line of fire it it were me making this rushed decision. The community is listening and our eyes are wide open. Do the right thing and wait until everyone has the facts. Especially, being in the financial situation we are in; avoiding possible troubles with any founded allegations brings you to the fiscally responsible answer of NO!
