Here is my long post for the month: I just want to say how thankful I am that I have a youth director Abel Foto that plans this amazing mission trip with support from our church.. I was so blessed that I could go.I am going to be completely honest here and say that it was life changing.. Just going there and helping out everyone in need whether they needed something just as simple as a hug, or something like groceries or beds for their family, was very eye opening. I went there thinking that it was going to be really hard. But honestly it wasnt hard. Doing it with a happy and gracious heart made it fun. It got me thinking, why is it that it takes going to a totally different state on a mission to help the needy for us to realize that we should be doing it all the time. It made me realize that it shouldnt be like that. Back here in Washington most of us have gotten used to just turning the other cheek and ignoring the needy, mainly the homeless. Most of us judge really quick, whether its because they might smell, or look different or because we judge them for what decisions they have made in the past, and because of our judgments towards them most of us dont help them. We are called to be Gods hands and feet. There is so many things you can do .. whether its grabbing a friend, a garbage bag and some gloves and picking up a sidewalk, or bringing someone food. This is my challenge to you... whenever you see someone with a need, instead of turning the other cheek, maybe go over and talk to them and give them Hope.Even if you dont think it will make a big difference, it actually does. Be His hands and feet and give someone hope. Let me tell you, it brought me such joy to see the smiles on their faces. My heart was bursting. It is time to start helping and bringing joy and happiness to the world rather than ignorance and hatred. Lets see what kind of an impact we can make!
