Here is my lovely friend, Edward Rugman, MD with Russell Watson now ! So pleased for him....you see I know a good pianist when I hear one.....Edward & me, met at the Academy where I teach from, he was teaching there too. I heard the wonderful jazz piano sounds of The Nearness of You ( one of my fave songs ) floating out from behind a studio door, during the first couple of days I had started working there, over 3yrs ago. Unable to resist, I popped my head round the door & said Hello, that sounds fabulous.....we became firm friends & in fact so did his whole family, his Mum made my dress for the Proms, herself a beautiful Soprano, his Dad, a Dr, came to my Mums rescue at the Proms, when she had an Atrial Fibrillation attack & his younger brother, becoming one of my pupils, super talented like his big bro, now doing great guns at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, London. Some of you, whom attended my Vintage Valentines Dinner Dances in St.Annes a couple of years ago, will remember that Edward was my pianist & in fact both myself & Edward, got a fab write-up on Trip Advisor for the event ! Ed was also MD for the Lytham 40s Dance, at the Lowther Pavilion, with the Terry Reaney Band, in 2012. Ed is a superb pianist & of course Russell Watson, one of my fave singers.
