Here is my prediction for the 2016 presidential race. Hillary Clinton will get the democratic partys nomination easily. She wont have any serious challengers. On the Republican side, it will be just like 2012. There were basically 3 types of republican voters in 2012. There were libertarians or people who leaned libertarian and voted for Ron Paul. There were establishment republicans who voted for Mitt Romney. And there were tea party people who werent libertarians who split the vote between everyone else. Mitt Romney didnt win the majority of votes but he got more than anyone else (a true majority requires 50% or more). Then when Mitt Romney got the nomination no principled voter cared about it because he was the same as Obama and Obama won. The republican party will have the same problem in 2016. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, and a few teapublicans will run. Im guessing that Rand will get more libertarians votes, Cruz will get more tea party people who lean libertarian to vote for him, Chris Christie will get the establishment vote, and theyll have a few people who split the non libertarian tea party vote again. Christie will get the nomination easily, no one on the republican side will care, and then Hillary gets elected president. I remember in 2012 no one told me to vote for Romney because they liked what he stood for. They all told me to vote for him because he wasnt Obama. A candidate needs supporters who actually like him if he ever wants to win- and Christie will not get that.
