Here is my take on operation horseback 1.5 years of investigation - TopicsExpress

Here is my take on operation horseback 1.5 years of investigation lets say 10 officers (which is a low number, 70k per year per officer (which is also a low number) $700,000 a year so $1,050,000 at that point. The day of the arrests 100 officers (low number) 12 hrs each (low number) Average pay $50 an hour (low number) another 60k. Hotels/housing, food, overtime for other departments brought in $125,000. Extra lawyers paid by the state and county throughout the case $700,000 (low number) addicts going through withdrawal needing treatment $500,000 (low number) so Im around 2.5 million at my lowest number and Im guessing its closer to 6 million and they seized $60,000 worth of heroin? Someone didnt think this trough properly and I guarantee that the although this was made out to be some big huge bust and a success it was a poor investigation and the execution wasnt the greatest either. Another fact for everyone remember the big bust in 2007? After that the crime rate in the categories murder, rape, arson, burglaries, assaults and demotic violence all went up raising our crime rate by 40 points. It gets worse before it gets better folks. So although operation horseback looks great in the paper it doesnt look so good on paper.
